Arab? Indian? Same Difference....

I think not!
Hollywood and TV world seems to be convinced that Indians can play Arabs in any movie or TV series. Why? I don't know! What can't they find some Arab aspiring actors? Are Indian actors cheaper? WTF people.

Now, let's go over the differences between Indian and Arab:

Naveen Andrews - aka Sayid from Lost. He's Indian, and plays an Arab.
1) He's too dark to be an Arab, and even dark ones have a different skin tone
2) His hair is a bit too straight for an arab
3) He can't even say his NAME properly: he says sa-y-eed not sa3eed!
4) Have you HEARD his supposed accent?

Iqbal Theba - Pakistani - Plays a father of a Palestinian student in the sitcom Community.
He speaks arabic in one part and it's soooo crap! You have no idea just how crap!

Here is what Arabs do look like:

Tony Shalhoub - (Monk, Stark Raving Mad)

Khaled Abdalla (The Kite Runner)

Khaled Nabawy (Kingdom of Heaven)

Come to think of it that dude would have made a good Sayid :P

Sit-com world

30 Rock is back on, and I like it. Mixed reviews from everyone, but I actually liked it a lot! I hope Liz gets a boyfriend this season and it would last a little longer. I want Kenneth to get more airtime, and i really hope they get a new actor in there that would throw off the balance a little.
We also need to find out what happened with the kidney! Alan Alda, come back!

The Big Bang Theory is back with a BANG! Yesterday's episode was rocking!! WEEEAAATTTOOONNN! I love Sheldon SO much! And I hope the new girl sticks around for Wolowitz - maybe we can finally see his mother's face. Seriously SO good! I think we need more drunken Raj scenes, and we definitely need to see Sheldon more worked up more often - GOOD TV!

The Middle - it's this new show with the Janitor from Scrubs - i still call him Janitor in his new series - the mother from Everybody loves Raymond and a few weird kids. I love the little one who is just plain weird. I think i will start whispering things to myself like he does - it's cool. It's a funny show and it's getting good ratings - YAY!

Community? I am still very much on the fence about this one. Some parts are brilliant, some parts are meh! Chevy Chase is not as funny as he should be. And the Arab guy and his father are just atrocious to the TV industry - INDIAN IS NOT ARAB!!!! We look different, We sound different - and I can't believe they get indians to fake-speak arabic! Seriously people, SERIOUSLY!

Cougar Town? So it's getting great reviews, and even my sister found it funny. Why am I just not buying into it? I keep watching it but i'm still giving it a chance. And her friend who was Dr. Cox's wife in Scrubs just came in to this series as the same character, she did not change at all. They might as well have bridged those two together and got in Dr. Cox along - that would have been good!

Accidentally on Purpose: I like it! The woman - who I insist on calling Dharma still - is funny and weird, the guy is super cute! The woman with the accent could be much funnier - but let's cut her a break she's working hard on hiding the baby bump.

Finally there's How I met your Mother which i'm still undecided about. Is it riding on its former glory? Or is it actually good? I like the robin/barney plot lines the most! Ted needs to get a girl and Lily & Marshal should either get pregnant or go broke or just have something different happen to them.

For the Love of Glee!

Could a show get any better?
- Underdogs trying to be stars
- Hip chart-topping music sung every episode
- Actors you can SANG!! (quoting Randy Jackson here)
- Cute chemistry between quirky counselor and choir director
- A crazy politically-incorrect cheer leading instructor

And what do you get? A recipe for success!

A few of my favorites:

- Don't Stop Believin'

Somebody to love

Bust the windows out your Car

Mash-up - It's my life - this is my confession

Kristin Chennoweth is amazing!

5 things that will bring Grey's back to life

- Bring back Burke to throw Christina off just when she starts getting hot and heavy with Owen
- Let the Chief go towards the middle of the season - we want big big scandal
- Get Derek and Burke to fight over chief, and leave it as a cliff hanger for next season
- Introduce a new sexy resident that is a new friend of the gang
- Find something interesting to do with Izzy: bring back the daughter she gave up to live with her and cause her some drama.

TV is BACK ON! - YAAAY!

I'm a little late with this.

TV Watch this fall:

- Desperate Housewives: More out of habit, and there's nothing else going on on Mondays. Premiere was ok - LOVED the wedding dress and the tiara she was wearing they were definitely the highlight of the show

- Gossip Girl: Ep 1 and 2 have been lame. Get Georgina off the show. I decided I do not like Serena, Jessica Zhor (Vanessa) needs an new stylist -but her hairdresser is pretty sweet, so far it's watch-out-of-habit but I expect it to get better as the season goes on

- One Tree Hill: gave it a chance, but i may be dropping it. L A M E!

- How I met your mother: The stripper episode was AMAZING! The show gets better and better. I love that the women are both still carrying some leftover pregnancy weight, it's nice to watch normal thin people. Barney is the best.

- The Big Bang Theory: I love Sheldon and Kuthrapali is the hidden diamond in there! BBT is as good as ever!

- Heroes: It's getting mixed reviews, I haven't seen it yet. Whether it gets pushed to Summer dry patch or make it to the Fall TV watch? I don't know yet, let me finish catching up on Lost first. There's only so much nail biting one can do at a time.

- 90210: It's getting good - it's officially replaced GG in my favorite brainless-show category

- Melrose Place: Blaah - not digging it.

- Glee: My absolute favorite show this year! It is brilliant! The music is great, the characters are really good and the story lines are ludicrous! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

- Drop Dead Diva: Just ended, was GREAT! Seriously i cannot wait till 2010

- Grey's Anatomy: it's getting blah too

- Private Practice is the new Grey's Anatomy. Me likey

- Flash Forward: We'll see...

Summer dry period update 1!

Ok, so I started my summer with Heroes Volume 4
I have a new favorite: Sylar - I like him, more than Peter. That season got you really emotionally invested in Sylar, and Peter was just there! I guess i makes sense to rotate the Hero focus. Next year it's obviously Nathan/Sylar. I hate that they killed Nathan, this means that when the truth eventually comes out, he will not be there anymore. This was surprisingly dissapointing to me. Sad Face :(
I think Heroes was just fine in Volume 4 - people need to cut them some slack. Season 1 and 2 had the noevlty so nothing will be as good. But in terms of plot lines, character development and direction I think the Heroes gang have kept it pretty consitent over the years..

So in conclusion, Heroes still Rocks!

Finally, I'd like to send my prayers out to Ashraf Metwally - whom i call Ashraf Heores. He is the one who introduced me to this whole Heroes world last summer - he was a good guy. Rest in Peace Ashraf! You're a Hero too...

TV drops!

No hope for privileged :( i am so sad, i loved Privileged. Loved the Megan loved the richness and fancyness. Loved the men - YUM.
So sad :(

Samantha who get's the boot too - there are 8 more episodes unaired but it's finitto for the amnesiac. It was a fun show too. A nice brainless show after tearing up on Grey's every Friday morning! (7 hour time difference to the US and Cairo!)

There will be no spin-off of Gossip Girl telling the story of Lilly in the 80s. And here i was getting ready for some 80s terrible fashion...

Hope Premire week in 19 weeks will bring new shows and new addictions.

Plans for the summer?
- Heroes volume 4
- Lost
- Fringe - yummy yummy yum!
- Friday Nights live
- Chuck (maybe)

that's it for now....
